A Message From Our Founder
Phil McVay
I began my journey as a Support Worker in residential children’s homes feeling the daily pressure of wanting to spend quality time with the Children and Young People in our care, but also having to ensure we recorded all aspects of their care properly. We relied solely on pen and paper, which to my constant frustration, was so time-consuming it took us away from the Young People who needed us.
As I transitioned into management and ownership of Children’s Homes and Supported Accommodation provisions, the regulatory and reporting challenges became even more apparent. It was in 2003, with over a decade of firsthand experience in the sector, that I decided to do something about this and I began work on developing a digital recording system, Clearcare Solutions.
Clearcare was designed with the Child at its heart; to simplify the day-to-day routines surrounding their care to free up carers’ valuable time to support them better. For the first time it brought together everything into one place - helping my team manage compliance, streamline reporting, and improve communication between Young People, Carers, Staff, and Inspectors.
It was only once it worked successfully in my own homes that others approached me to ask if it could be rolled out in theirs, which is where the wider adoption of Clearcare began. After more than two decades of success, I’m incredibly proud of how Clearcare Solutions continues to free up carers to focus on what matters most. With exciting new features and launches ahead, our commitment remains the same: ensuring the Child remains at the heart of everything we do.
