How Does Clearcare Keep Care Records Secure?

Back in December we reached an incredible milestone, with the number of care logs securely stored within Clearcare reaching a staggering 83 MILLION! With over 130,000 logs submitted to Clearcare every single day, we take cyber security extremely seriously. In this blog, we’ll be sharing some of the rigorous steps we take to ensure your data is as safe as houses.

What are care logs?

Care logs are written records of a child’s life in care, including information about the child’s experiences and the actions taken by those caring for them. A care log can record any important information about a child’s life, including significant events, progress towards achieving outcomes, milestones, achievements and life story work.

How do we keep your care logs secure?

We maintain strict security standards which are reflected in our ISO 27001 and ISO 9001 certifications, both of which have recently been recertified.

Our ISO accreditations show our commitment to proactively managing risk and demonstrates the rigorous, trusted procedures followed to keep your data secure.

What does ISO 27001 mean?

ISO 27001 is the world’s best-known standard for managing information security management systems. The ISO 27001 standard provides strict guidelines for establishing, implementing, maintaining and continually improving our information security management system. This means that we have documented systems in place to manage security risks, and that all our data is stored within the UK to ensure it is properly regulated.

What does ISO 9001 mean?

ISO 9001 is an international standard that focuses on maintaining a quality management system. The key purpose of ISO is to put customer satisfaction, leadership, processes and continuous improvement at the heart of our services.

ISO 9001 requires us to:

  •  Implement effective processes
  •  Train staff to deliver quality products or services
  •  Record customer contact information
  •  Gather customer feedback
  •  Keep an error log
  •  Implement a final inspection procedure

We’re Cyber Essentials Plus certified, too!

We’re also Cyber Essentials Plus certified – this is a government-backed scheme that helps businesses to better protect their data from cyber attacks. As part of the certification, an external audit is carried out, including independent pen testing, which simulates a cyber attack on a system to evaluate how robust its security features are.

What other steps do you take?

We also undertake internal and external audits and pen testing to proactively manage risk.
